There’s something electric about a supercar’s first full run on the track, and when the supercar is a Lamborghini Huracán STO, expectations are high. We recently provided full support at Silverstone for a customer driving their STO — and thanks to thorough preparation, everything clicked.
🔧 Pre‑Event: Full Health Check & Upgrades
Before we even rolled out of the garage, the car had undergone a full health check to ensure reliability and performance:
-
New brake pads fitted front and rear, giving fresh bite and better consistency throughout the sessions
-
Harness bar installed to accommodate upgraded race harnesses, improving driver safety and reducing movement under load
-
Fluids checked and topped off (oil, coolant, brake fluid)
🏁 On the Day at Silverstone
With the basics covered, the day was all about execution and pushing performance:
-
Warm‑ups & Reconnaissance: The first few laps were used to warm tyres, brakes, and build driver feeling. Even with new pads and fresh setup, easing in helps preserve everything for tougher runs later.
-
Incremental Push: As sessions progressed, the STO’s CCM‑R carbon‑ceramic brakes (390 mm front, 360 mm rear) showed their strength: delivering excellent stopping power without fade.
-
Support Crew & Feedback: Between each session we checked the car — tyre pressures, driver feedback — making small tweaks if necessary.
🔍 Why the STO Shines with Proper Support
The Huracán STO is built with serious track pedigree in mind:
-
Its CCM‑R braking system gives excellent thermal capacity and consistent performance under pressure.
-
Lightweight materials (carbon fibre, aluminum) and aerodynamic enhancements (splitters, wings, etc.) reward precise setup and driver input.
-
The harness bar and upgraded harnesses help the driver feel more locked in, improving safety and reducing fatigue.
✅ Final Thoughts
Pre‑event preparation made a tangible difference in performance and reliability, and the car delivered what it was built to do. The customer left with a clear sense of what their car could achieve, and ideas for tweaks next time.
Silverstone always gives a supercar its truth moment — and supported properly, the STO answered back with authority.
